Message From PAC Chairman
As we enter the 2011 year, AIA Pennsylvania has a lot at stake during this importantelection year. I am writing to ask for your support for the Pennsylvania Architects PAC (PA PAC).
As you know, the practice of architecture and the construction process are highly regulated industries; government policy has a major influence on our livelihoods and our business. The votes of the state legislature affect each of us. By pooling our resources, we can have greater impact on the political process on behalf of our profession at both the state and local levels.
AIA Pennsylvania continues to work on important issues such as: supporting updates to the state architects licensure act, green issues, historic preservation, mandate waivers, as well as opposing professional services sales tax and interior designer licensure legislation. All these issues take time, money and an ability to build strong relationships.
PA PAC is a business tool for architects, funded entirely by architects. Our PAC Management Committee directs legislative contributions wisely by supporting our allies – elected officials who will work with AIA PA. Our agenda is guided by what is best for the profession of architecture. Your contributions are not part of your dues and are not related to ArchiPAC, the architects PAC at the federal level. All contributions go directly into the Pennsylvania Architects PAC and are used entirely by AIA Pennsylvania to help you and your business succeed in the Commonwealth.
Please take a moment and consider making a contribution to the Pennsylvania Architects PAC. Your contribution at any level is badly needed, and like your vote, can make a difference.
While contributions must be made on a personal or partnership basis (no corporate funds), they can be made by credit card online.
