Pennsylvania Architects Political Action Committee

“Every man owes a part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged. No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere”

President Theodore Roosevelt - 1908

Dear Colleagues:

Political participation leads to results. A strong political action committee is an essential advocacy tool for the architecture community.  Your participation in the political action process will help shape public policy so that it is responsive to the needs of our industry.  Supporting the PAC ensures that architects have a meaningful voice in the outcome of important issues.

The Pennsylvania Architects PAC promotes responsible government by supporting state legislators and candidates for the General Assembly who are committed to our issues.  Architects are not the only group lobbying lawmakers in Harrisburg.  Everyday we face powerful competition from other influential groups that advance positions adverse to architects. Through its efforts, the PA PAC contributes immeasurably to accomplishing our advocacy goals.  A vigorous Pennsylvania Architects PAC ensures that we have a strong voice in Harrisburg and that our voice is heard.

Join our effort to make Pennsylvania a better place to practice architecture and become a member of the Pennsylvania Architects PAC.  Among other things, the political process determines who can practice architecture; what the building code consists of and how it should be implemented; how land use decisions are made at the local level; and the development of Pennsylvania’s priorities for sustainable communities. The PAC allows architects to join forces with their peers who share their concerns and support candidates for elected office who champion the issues important to our profession. We appeal to every architect to contribute generously to the Pennsylvania Architects PAC.  When we unite as a group, our voice is far more powerful than that of a single voice and that is the sound of success!

The Pennsylvania Architects PAC is a non-profit, non- partisan political action committee.  The PAC Management Committee is comprised of architects from all over Pennsylvania who have knowledge of and interest in public policy.  The PAC Management Committee reviews each candidate’s qualifications, voting records and their responsiveness to AIA PA’s issues and positions.  The input of architects in each region of the state helps the PA PAC contribute to legislators and candidates who share the goals of the membership of AIA Pennsylvania.
